A quick trip to the Florida Keys: Key West, Marathon, Islamorada

Have you been wanting to check out the Florida Keys?!

It is such a special and beautiful place to check out! This post is for the pescatarians out there. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to dive into the vegetarian options in this area during this trip. While it is definitely seafood forward… There is a TON of great restaurants right on the water. Even just making the trip for the Key Lime Pie is worth it in my books! Here are some of the ones I tried, as well as a few activity recommendations. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of this area, so please add in your favorite restaurant spots in the comments below!!

P.S.

I flew in and out of the Key West airport, and it was a breeze to navigate! It’s very small and is undergoing renovations, so it will be updated soon. I would recommend this airport if you are wanting to avoid the hassle of city driving from Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Just keep in mind that Key West is still a ways away from the other Keys! We stayed in Marathon, and it was over an hour drive from the airport. There is a bus that runs throughout the Keys, which we took on the way back, and is very affordable. It took roughly an hour and a half on the bus to get from Marathon to Key West. Otherwise, driving from Miami and Fort Lauderdale is not bad either, there can be cheap flights (depending on where you’re flying from) to get there, and the drive down can be a great way to explore more of the area. Driving on the one highway throughout the Keys is easy driving, it can just take a while to get to one spot to the other since that’s the only route! I hope you have a blast visiting this amazing area!
